The Audition Process
Please check back in Fall 2025 for more information on our next cycle of auditions.
The Pitches hold auditions each fall, and only occasionally in the spring… so if you are interested please DON’T WAIT! The audition process consists of preliminary auditions and callbacks, usually over the course of a week.
What to expect:
Preliminary auditions are held for three days and are open to all Harvard students. The audition lasts about 5-10 minutes, and consists of a range test, pitch-matching exercises, and an optional sight-reading exercise. Auditionees should prepare a brief solo consisting of a verse and chorus from a song of their choice… something you LOVE!
Following preliminary auditions, the Pitches select a number of auditionees for the callbacks stage of auditions. Three rounds of callbacks are held in the 3-4 days following preliminary auditions. During callbacks, auditionees learn and perform excerpts from the Pitches’ repertoire, and also get to know the current Pitches!
The morning after the final night of callbacks, the Pitches welcome their newest group of “babies!”
If you have any questions or feedback about auditions, please reach out to our President, Grace Bida ‘26 at contact@pitches.org. We’d love to hear from you!
